Closing Day Update

We had our walk yesterday. It went well but we had a pretty lengthy list of items needing to be fixed still.

We are still missing a light fixture and they still need to swap out one of the wrong fixtures. We are still missing the backsplash in our butlers pantry. The master bath tub is not attached to anything....yes it's just sitting there and able to be moved with a slight push of the hand. Bathroom fixtures in shower leak. Water pressure via the hose bibs on one side of the house is really low. One of the returns in the attic is barely putting out any air. Granite in master bath needs to be replaced or repaired because it looks like someone took a box cutter to it. Lots of grout issues. They are quite a few other things they are addressing as well but as you can tell some of these things you wouldn't think would still be an issue at this point but I am glad they didn't hold us up on closing because I didn't want to lose the rate lock (which would have happened if it had to get pushed back to Thursday).

Our closing is scheduled for 11 am today. I have to say for anyone that saw my blog about FFSI and are considering going with them...go with them if you don't mind people dragging their feet and putting absolutely no priority on your closing package.......It's been very frustrating going with them.

Anyway, pictures below:

Update 8/23

Lots has happened but I have been without a computer for a couple weeks so haven't updated as frequently as I have been. I will update more inside pictures tomorrow but below are pictures from the front of the house which is pretty much as finished as it will be (until after we close and we get our landscaper in here!)

Update 8/13

Our cooktop and dbl oven arrived and were installed. You guessed it.....the wrong ones! The cooktop though was actually an upgrade, the dbl oven on the other hand was not...they discontinued the one we selected, GE Profile - PT956SRSS and installed GE - JT5500SFSS. When I called GE to find out what the "replacement" was for the PT956SRSS she told me it was PT7550SFSS which when looked up online is about 1k more than the one they installed.

We decided to keep the dishwasher despite it being the wrong one after looking at the reviews of the one we were supposed to get. The microwave though, I'm not happy with because it's not a comparable IMO and I really don't like getting discontinued items (especially when I didn't pick it) and there is no reason why they can't provide what we actually picked.

They finished our fireplace and I'm happy with the look. =)

Front door is the correct door but it still needs to be stained.

 They stained the stairs.
They installed the top on the butlers pantry but they still need to install the backsplash tile
They put up our floodlights outside.
They just put in our carpet in the master and was finishing the second floor and moving to the attic when I left.

Missing the mirror in the bonus bath still and knobs to that vanity and the one in the second bath.

Still waiting on the fireplace shingles to get fixed but at least they came today to fix the roof in the front (water was seeping in to the new Sheetrock in the garage!).

They came back and re-installed the granite (again they held it up with a stick), someone took it off the bar and set it down (I imagine so it wouldn't break again...)

They still need to fix the 4 broken tiles in the morning room (got broken when the granite on the bar fell of the first time).

They came back and repainted the inside so it looks a lot better in the house now.

Still need Guardian to come back out and install our outdoor speaker.

Bay Window still needs to be trimmed up and the metal roof (wherever it is) needs to be installed.

Most of the replacement doors are painted now, waiting in the garage to be installed in the house.

Still need the trim to be finished on the outside & around the garage doors.

Oh and we still need gutters and landscaping!

A lot IMO that still needs to be done when they were trying to have this completed by the 15th (2 days).

But we are definitely getting closer.

We got an estimate on blinds from Lowe's (my favorite store!) and we have another appt for a blind estimate from Budget Blinds tomorrow. So much money in blinds I tell ya! /sigh

Update 8/10

Our bay window roof is supposed to be a black metal roof - yesterday they installed shingles on it....No clue where the metal roof is still but when that arrives they will have to remove the shingles & install the correct metal roof.

Pretty much all of the lighting is in (except that they installed the wrong finish so they will have to swap it all out).

All of the fans are in except all of the light kits are wrong finish - they are going to have to swap those out as well.

We checked the model numbers of the dishwasher and microwave they installed (still no dbl oven or cooktop) and both were not the models we selected - they were both discontinued models that didn't seem to be on any option list so no clue how they were shipped. So...we expect to see a new DW and OTR Microwave soon.

The mantle for our fireplace is now installed, we were supposed to have the stone installed around it yesterday but when they delivered the stone they had it at the bottom of the driveway and a worker ran over it with a bobcat.....so we wait for new product.

The wood flooring is installed - we love it but I'm not happy about the transition between the wood and the tile (not an error, just my preference)

Tile backsplash is partially installed in the kitchen (they have to come back and finish once the new granite is installed over the bar area).

We are supposed to get the granite over the bar area and butlers pantry Monday.

They installed the correct front door - there is a little issue they need to fix with just under the glass on the door.

They installed all the door hardware but.....they installed it on the doors that had "REMOVE" written all over them because of the water damage caused from being in the wet garage (the new doors were in the garage and they were supposed to install them before putting on the hardware /sigh) - so they will have to uninstall the door hardware and reinstall once the new doors get put up.

They fixed our steps in the garage so it now goes to the backwall instead of being against the entire side wall making it so we can't use the 3rd bay. It's a good thing they did this because we now have the garage doors on and looking at the framing of the garage doors it wouldn't have worked the way they had it and it looks soooo much better this way.

They finished our deck and we LOVE it! The same guys that did the steps in the garage did the deck and they were so nice and did a great job.

They finished out the crawlspace with the barrier and the door.

They were finishing the outside trim yesterday, not sure if they completed it or not - still needed some shutters up and trim around the front door when we left.

They installed the railings on the front steps.

They framed the driveway and sidewalk so they are ready for concrete!

The PM told my husband yesterday we should have everything done by end of next week. So I'm crossing my fingers.
